As husband to a South Asian woman, and father of a seven-year-old, Black x South Asian daughter, and a concerned man living in the U.K., this story hits close to home.

Sabina Nessa, 28, was a British-Bangladeshi school teacher whose life was taken far too soon. The attack is suspected of occurring around 8:30 pm on Friday, September 17th, while walking through the park. Close to home. Close to her place of work.

This incident has received limited coverage compared to the national and international outcry following the disappearance of Sarah Everard. Yet another reminder that our stories shouldn't only make the front page when it suits someone else's agenda. Our lives deserve to be seen and valued.

Both the area where the incident occurred and where Sabina’s body was found are heavily frequented. An investigation is currently underway, and anyone with information can call police on 101, reference 5747/18. To remain anonymous, please contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

A candlelight vigil supported by @reclaimthesestreets is being held this Friday, September 24th, at 7 pm in Nessa's honor, at Pegler Square in Kidbrooke Village.

May Sabina’s soul rest in power. #sabinanessa
