At the end of 2020, a member of the @americanportraitpbs production team approached us to share our story.
PBS American Portrait is a collection of stories contributed by people all over the country — a portrait of what it means to be American today. The project is an ongoing, evolving initiative that asks people to respond to one of a number of thought-provoking prompts.
We chose the prompt, “Family Looks Like.........." which we felt would allow us to debunk stereotypes regarding interfaith, multicultural, and Black x South Asian relationships.
